There is one type of white wine that is available everywhere on the Greek island of Zakynthos, and that is the Verdea. Both dry and semi-dry versions can be found. This is a very refreshing summer drink and has my warmest recommendations. Typically an inexpensive wine. Several producers, the above label is just an example.

English speaking fans of the sensational Italian 70s TV-series “Il segno del comando” will be disappointed with the DVD edition provided by RAI. NO sub-titles are included. If you want to familiarize yourself with Greek Wine you could not have a better guide than this book, “The Illustrated Greek Wine Book” by Nico Manessis:  

   Discovery Walking Guides seem to have been extremely busy the last year or so. Everything “La Palma” also has new editions: “Walk! La Palma” and “La Palma Tour & Trail Map”.

Also new this year, the “Tenerife Hikers’ Maps Super-Durable Edition”.

But this one *is* new, the 5th edition of the “La Gomera Tour & Trail Super-Durable Map”.
