During my stay in Italy this summer I came across this awesome beer. There is nothing wrong with an ordinary Moretti or Peroni either, but this is in a different class. Warmly recommended.

Just bought this pair of medium height boots for my everyday walking needs. These are actually so sturdy they can be used for light mountain walks as well. Will be interesting to try out, never bought Haglöfs before.

Also updated this summer is Andreas Stieglitz’ excellent Azores guide. In my opinion Andreas Stieglitz is one av the absolute best writers, and his books are always to be trusted. I can personally recommend his Sardinia guide too. Read his (German) website.

This part of the Turkish coast I did not visit this summer so I cannot comment much on the book, except to say that this is a new edition. As things tend to change very quickly in areas under such high development the only time to go is when the guide books are brand new. … Continue reading »

Sunflower have updated their Malta guide this summer. I have used a couple of previous editions and not been entirely happy. I will pass this one by, I already have a very promising Gozo guide to try out (see below)…

While we are on the topic of guide books written by Geoff Daniel, I can also mention the latest edition of his Cyprus guide. I used a previous edition back in 2002, and was in general very happy with it.

Just bought this book, and Guernsey will for sure be in the program for next year.
