My first bottle of “Julebrygg” this year may be the best also. I hope I can get hold of more of it. Fantastic beer. Even better is that this is in the Viking tradition celebrating “ÝLIR” (Jul). Christmas is something thought up on the basis of evil religions with their basis in the Middle East. As a good Norwegian, I hate all religion, and *especially* I hate everything from the Middle East, which are or will be completely destroying this earth in the end. If I *had* to have a religion I would go for good old Odin and Thor. Now *that* are my kind of gods…
Newcomer of the Year?
This new Single Malt Scotch Whisky of the year (more or less) shows great promise. Very good even now at max 3-4 years of age!

Madeira Tour & Trail Map
Walk! Tenerife
This is the 2nd edition in the same series for neighboring Tenerife. Also new this year. I have used the 1st edition of this book and was very happy with it.
Lanzarote Tour & Trail Super-Durable Map
This walking map is the perfect company to the book below. These super-durable maps really hold what they promise in my experience.
Walk! Lanzarote
This is the new edition of “Walk! Lanzarote” by Discovery Walking Guides. I have not used any edition of this book on Lanzarote myself, but can only say that I have been very happy with the books in this series that I *have* used.
Best Spanish Brandy?
In all the years of travels to Spain what is the best Brandy I have ever come a cross? To tell you the truth the ultimate one I actually never found in Spain, but had with a Cafe Solo in a local Tapas bar back home. I have gone the grades from the Carlos I via my later favorites Cardenal Mendoza and Gran Duque de Alba. But this one, the Torres Jaime I, must surely be top of the line for any normally available Spanish Brandies?
Birra Baladin
Another exceptional Italian beer maker is Birra Baladin. This one I did not see in Italy, but picked it up back home.
Moretti Grand Cru
During my stay in Italy this summer I came across this awesome beer. There is nothing wrong with an ordinary Moretti or Peroni either, but this is in a different class. Warmly recommended.
