I have already made a post about some of my favorite Norwegian beers. But it feels bad not to mention other Norwegian brewers of similar quality. I don’t think Norwegian beer in general is in much demand abroad and for a reason, unfortunately there is nothing interesting going on except for the various microbreweries that exist. Luckily there are quite a few of these and the quality is like from a different planet… I just cannot mention all of them, I will just scan through a few. This is Ægir from Flåm. True viking beer. Thanks to Bernt Rostad for the beautiful picture of Skumring (I have a bottle in front of me also, right now), you can get the original in full resolution at http://www.flickr.com/photos/brostad/7418048938/.

Great walks Gozo
This is a brand new book from the authors of “Malta: 10 Great Walks”.
For once I have the actual book in my hands already so I can tell you my initial impressions: The walks covers the entire island in what sure looks like (as sure I can be without actually using the book yet) a very instructive and clear manner. When I am comparing the instructions with my notes from my own walks on the island it seems spot on, and all walk descriptions seem well written and with sufficient detail. In addition it also has fairly detailed maps. History and background information are put in separate sections and it also covers practicalities for the visitor. The general layout is very appealing. I am certain that this book will be your trusted walking companion if you visit the island of Gozo. I have had some issues with others guides on Gozo, and this book looks like a better offer.
So as a conclusion: Very promising and also inspiring, I just cannot wait to try it out in real life. Actually, I hope there will be time for that at some point during winter or in the spring at the latest.
Walking holidays, travelogues, travel photography and travel information
Visit http://www.sanmarkotravel.com/ for travelogues and pictures from walking holidays in e.g Greece and the Canary Islands. A very inspiring site, I just had a little rerun of my walk up towards Gingilos on Crete…
Certificate of Insanity
Yes, I now it is insane, but this pair is my new loudspeaker cables. Built on order, so mine are not “similar”, this *is* my pair, the only pair yet existing exactly like it.
Walking in Oslo
The last few walks of a 10 year project are coming to their end. The final walks are being added to https://www.islandwalking.com/wordpress/other-destinations/oslo/ and the final pictures are being added to http://www.islandwalking.com/piwigo/index.php?/category/33. Now there is only one walk left to do and I will have done the 125 I aimed for.
“A plea from our Greek friends”
A lot could be said about this, and I do not interpret this as if someone claims the media is lying, it is just a plea to make up your own opinion about whether the Greek situation will actually affect your holiday or not. As that, I feel a big obligation to pass this on. I am pretty sure the original poster won’t mind, I found this already on several web-sites, and I would say please pass it on if you are similarly inclined…
